Hatched pixel egg: Butterfly dragon

The small-ish egg suddenly trembles violently in your hands, and bursts open. The hatchling inside is...damp? You quickly hurry out of the cave, cradling its limp body in your hands until you reach a warm, sunlit area, where you gently lay it down upon the grass.

A few hours later, the young dragon unfurls its iridescent wings, flaps them a few times experimentally, and gracefully leaps into flight. It seems to like eating insects, which it catches mid-air.

This was really fun to design! From the egg I already had the idea for the colour scheme and the wings, but while designing it further I added black plates down its back like an insect-y exoskeleton. So this dragon might look dainty, but it's pretty fast and well armoured too!
